Technopromexport to Build Nine Plants in Algeria
OREANDA-NEWS. Technopromexport, which is part of the state corporation Rostec’s holding company Prominvest, signed a contract with the Algerian national power company to build nine diesel power plants.
The contract is worth over USD 110 million. The power plants will be built as turnkey projects with a total installed capacity of more than 30 MW.
The two sides signed the contract after an international open tender that Technopromexport won by offering the most competitive technical and commercial proposal of the six participants.
Under the contract, the company will provide an entire range of engineering services, including design, equipment supply, supervision of construction and installation, commissioning tests, initiation of energy facilities, and personnel training.
“Today the Algerian energy market is rapidly growing,” said Sergei Topor-Gilka, Technopromexport CEO. “Our company is a traditional partner with Algeria in power plant construction, and we intend to expand the scope of our activities in the region even further, participating in the construction of new power plants and power grid facilities.”
Technopromexport has been working in Algeria for more than 30 years. During that time, it has built the Annaba thermal power plan, with a capacity of 55 MW, as well as the TPP Jijel plant, with a total capacity of 630 MW. Today the company is a major partner of Algeria for the repair and servicing of its power plant facilities.
