OREANDA-NEWS. May 07, 2014. As of the end of March, the external state debt was MDL 17 billion 449.3 million (USD1 billion 297.7 million), up MDL 603.5 million (3.6%) or USD 7.5 million (0.6%) since the beginning of the year, the Finance Ministry reports.

At the same time, the internal state debt of Moldova grew MDL 330.9 million (5%) to MDL 7 billion 006.7 million. To serve the debt the Ministry allotted MDL 84.8 million, 99.8% of an amount budgeted. In 2013, Moldova’s stated debt increased 11% to MDL 23 billion 521.5 million.

As of December 31 2013, the external state debt was MDL 16 billion 845.7 million (USD1 billion 290.2 million), up MDL 1 billion 819.9 million (12.1%) or USD44.6 million (3.6%) since the beginning of the year, the Finance Ministry said. At the same time, the internal state debt of Moldova grew MDL 516.9 million (8.4%) to MDL 6 billion 675.8 million.
