OREANDA-NEWS. May 07, 2014. CEPSA inaugurated a new LPG storage, bottling and transfer plant for butane and propane in the district of Maside (Ourense).

The plant has been operating since last January.

The plant, representing an investment of over 4.5 million euros and with potential to generate up to 25 direct jobs, will initially provide a service to the autonomous communities of Galicia, Asturias and Castile and Leon.

Among other guests, the official inauguration ceremony was attended by Rosendo Fernandez, Vice President of the Ourense Provincial Government, Celso Fernandez, Mayor-President of Maside Council, and Rogelio Martinez, Territorial Representative of the Galician government in Ourense.

All attendees had the chance to learn first-hand about the technological progress and innovations that have gone into this new liquefied petroleum gas plant, as well as the results of its fitting out and commissioning works.

The Mayor-President of Maside Council placed emphasis on “The fact that a company like CEPSA has decided to establish itself in Maside is clearly due to the strategic location of our municipality on the communications map and we are very pleased about the creation of local jobs that it represents”.

Manual Baltar, Vice President of the Ourense Provincial Government, declared that “we are preparing the present and the future, we are living the present to build future through new technologies and innovation. Therefore I would like to thank everyone who took part in this project.”

Representing CEPSA Gas, Mr. Inigo Diaz de Espada, Managing Director of CEPSA Comercial Petroleo stated that "With the new Maside plant we are ready to implement our plans for growth across the north-west of the Iberian Peninsula. The new plant is a direct result of our commitment to the Galician market and cooperation between CEPSA and institutions at a local, provincial and autonomous community level, which have provided support at all times".
