OREANDA-NEWS. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company Branch in Izhevsk won in an open tender and concluded contracts of compulsory insurance of civil liability of the owner of a hazardous facility for injury as a result of an accident at the hazardous facility with Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol JSC. The limit of liability under the contracts is RUB 205 m.

The insurance program compensates for the damage caused to life, health or property of the victims of an accident at the hazardous facility, including the company's employees. Pursuant to the effective legislation, the limit of insurance indemnity for the damages to life and health of each victim is up to RUB 2 m, for the damage to the property of individuals, up to RUB 0.36 m, for damage to the property of legal entities, up to RUB 0.5 m.

Third party liability insurance is compulsory for the owners of hazardous facilities pursuant to federal legislation (Law No. 225-FZ of 27.07.2010). The new rules of compulsory insurance of hazardous facilities have been effective since January 1, 2012 for commercial organizations and since January 1, 2013, for state-funded entities.
