Kazakhstan Develops New Law on Protection of Consumers' Rights
OREANDA-NEWS. May 06, 2014. Agency for Protection of Consumers' Rights of Kazakhstan started to develop the concept and the draft law "On Protection of Consumers' Rights".
It was announced by the Chairman of the department Bolatbek Kuandykov during a press briefing at the Central Communications Service today.
"Due to the fact that the Law "On Protection of Consumers' Rights" has no clear mechanisms for restoration of consumers' infringed rights, the Agency began to develop the concept and the draft law "On Protection of Consumers’ Rights" in the new edition based on the best international practices. The procedure for protecting the rights of consumers’ realization of goods and services will be clearly established in new law. In particular, it is proposed to detail the procedure to return, replace, eliminate defects, define the responsibilities of sellers and performers, deadlines, consequences," B.Kuandykov noted.
In addition, he stressed that the powers of public authorities to ensure the protection of consumer rights will be defined in detail in the new Law.
