OREANDA-NEWS. May 06, 2014. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) analyzed the state of competition on the wholesale markets of gasoline and diesel fuel in 2013.

The survey objectives were to analyze and evaluate the state of competition on the wholesale markets of gasoline and diesel fuel and identifying economic entities that have the dominant position.

The survey findings revealed that the aggregate share of “Gazprom Neft” OJSC, “Rosneft” NK” OJSC, “LUKOIL” OJSC and “Bashneft” ANK” OJSC on the wholesale market of gasoline in the Russian Federation exceeds 70%. The aggregate share of “Gazprom Neft” OJSC, “Rosneft” NK” OJSC and “LUKOIL” OJSC on the wholesale market of diesel fuel in the Russian Federation also exceeds 70%. An individual share of each company on the relevant market in the Russian Federation is over 8% and exceeds shares of other economic entities. FAS recognizes that each of these companies has the dominant position on the wholesale markets of gasoline and diesel fuel, and, moreover, can exercise a considerable influence upon the main conditions of goods circulation on the market in question (Part 3 Article 5 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”).
