Change in Executive Board of LSG Holding
OREANDA-NEWS. The Supervisory Board of LSG Lufthansa Service Holding AG (“LSG Holding”) today announced changes to the company’s Executive Board.
Erdmann Rauer (47), Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of LSG Holding since January 2011, has been appointed deputy CEO, effective immediately. He will take over as CEO on October 1, 2014. Rauer will succeed Walter Gehl (61), who has chaired the Executive Board since March 2005 and whose contract expires as scheduled on September 30, 2014.
“The Lufthansa Group Executive Board and the LSG Holding Supervisory Board would like to express their deepest gratitude to Walter Gehl for his outstanding leadership in achieving the strategic realignment and successful positioning of the LSG Group,” said Simone Menne, Member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Chairwoman of the LSG Holding Supervisory Board. “His longstanding experience and his achievements in implementing initiatives and programs with a sustainable impact have made the LSG Group a top performer within the Lufthansa Group, as well as the industry at large. At the same time, we would like to wish Erdmann Rauer every success in keeping the company on this very positive trajectory in his new role.”
Erdmann Rauer joined the LSG subsidiary SPIRIANT GmbH (formerly LSG Sky Chefs Catering Logistics GmbH) as Managing Director in 2006. He assumed the SVP Sales and Marketing position in 2007, prior to being appointed to the Executive Board more than three years ago.
Walter Gehl has been with the Lufthansa Group since 1981. He has held a wide range of managerial responsibilities in various positions on the Executive Boards of Lufthansa Cargo, Lufthansa German Airlines and, latterly, LSG Holding since 1995. Under his leadership, the LSG Group underwent substantial restructuring and realignment, resulting in five consecutive years of earnings growth.
