OREANDA-NEWS. CROC has opened its Symantec Solution Center. The center features the vendor's flagship information security and management products, with visitors able to test the products and simulate situations based on their needs. CROC's new demonstration site will allow visitors to select an optimal range of solutions to ensure continuity of business system operations and data recovery.

"We see customers' growing interest in high availability and business continuity, as well as a rising demand for data loss prevention and information availability management solutions to address various threats, including natural disasters and power outages. This is why Symantec and CROC aim to increase awareness of solutions that deliver business process continuity and quick data recovery in the case of accident. Now it is possible to test hardware and software suites in short order and without any extra investment," said Andrey Tischenko, Deputy Director of Computer Systems Department for Solution Sales, CROC, at the Center's opening.

"We hope that the opening of the Solution Center together with CROC will help customers better understand the advantages of our technologies, including both information security and data archiving and storage, to solve complex IT tasks," said Andrey Vyshlov, Symantec Regional Director in Russia, CIS and Israel.

"We offer product and platform demonstrations to customers not only in a virtual environment, but also on enterprise-level physical hardware. The solutions do not operate in silos but are instead used to address specific and real-life situations. For example, CROC's Symantec Solution Center has some preconfigured scenarios, including platform-to-platform migration and simulated failover to and operations recovery at backup data center. The important thing is that we can demonstrate the specifics of Symantec solution integration with third-party systems such as Oracle databases. This allows customers to get a clear vision of how the hardware really operates," says Alexander Dubskiy, Head of CROC's Symantec Solution Center.

CROC has been working with Symantec for eight years now. Approximately 400 joint projects have been successfully completed over this period, including the deployment of a database performance optimization system with the Federal Financial Monitoring Service of Russia (Rosfinmonitoring) and Ingosstrakh, as well as a data leak prevention system with Novaya Perevozochnaya Kompaniya (NPK) and RUSNANO. In addition, CROC also recently created a backup computer center at AKB RosEvroBank OAO. This project included a Symantec Veritas Cluster to ensure the computing systems' high availability and the Symantec NetBackup solution for data backup.

In addition, CROC also uses Symantec products within its own IT infrastructure. For example, CROC deployed the Symantec Endpoint Protection solution internally for antivirus protection and Symantec Enterprise Vault for email archiving.
