Almaty Develops Plan for Formation of Agglomeration Center
OREANDA-NEWS. April 23, 2014. Almaty hosted a meeting of the working group to develop a long-term plan for the formation of agglomeration center in Almaty 2030 with the participation of Kazakhstan Regional Development Minister Bolat Zhamishev, Akim of Almaty City Akhmetzhan Yesimov and Akim of Almaty Region Ansar Mussakhanov.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Almaty City and Almaty Region akimats, public organs, JSC "Almaty Development Center", JSC "KazNIISA", JSC "Economic Research Institute" and others.
During the meeting, participants discussed the current situation of Almaty agglomeration functioning, the current transport problems and state of engineering infrastructure of core city and suburbs, the key issues the development process of a long-term plan for the formation of agglomeration and Territorial Development Interregional scheme of Almaty agglomeration.
As Bolat Zhamishev stressed Territorial Development Interregional schemes of Almaty agglomeration is a logical continuation of the process of building a hierarchy of town planning documents, the main of which is the General scheme of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Following the meeting, the format and deadline for submission of all raw data to develop Territorial Development Interregional schemes of Almaty agglomeration, notably the information to determine the boundaries of the agglomeration, forming a system of settlement on the territory of agglomeration, the resource potential and others were specified.
