OREANDA-NEWS. April 22, 2014. Consul-general Liu Kan of Chinese Consulate-general in Lagos conducted an inspection visit to the jobsite of Wire Rod Project (with an annual output capability of 300,000 tons) of WEMPCO Group in Nigeria.

This works is contracted by China 20MCC Construction Group (20MCC Group). Chairman Lewis Tung of WEMPCO Group accompanied Liu during the inspection.

Liu Kan and his delegation members were debriefed on the project execution, and then conducted investigation on the project site. The Consul-general spoke highly of the project implementation progress, safety work on site and the civilized construction. He expected all the project staff to make persistent efforts for meticulous construction, and endeavor to complete this project as soon as possible.

This project is invested by WEMPCO Group of Hong Kong, and the jobsite is located in the WEMPCO Industrial Park in IBAFO of Ogun State. The contract scope covers: 11,000 cubic meters of concrete works, 2,300 tons of machinery and electrical equipment, 21,200 meters of pipeline works and 55,000 meters of cable. The whole project is anticipated to be put into commissioning in October 2014.
