OREANDA-NEWS. April 22, 2014. "Lifosa" donated an impressive gift to Kedainiai Region - multifunctional sports and leisure complex Kedainiai Arena of the value of 20 million Litas. During the ceremonial opening event, the Arena built by AB "Lifosa" was officially handed over to Kedainiai District Municipality - the future owner of this building.

"We wanted to commemorate the 50th anniversary of our company with an extraordinary gift that is necessary for the city. By building this arena, we say thank you to Kedainiai residents for their pleasant cooperation and communication during the last half of century", says General Director of AB "Lifosa" Jonas Dastikas.

The construction works of Kedainiai Arena started on the 25th of May of 2012, upon the approval of company's obligation to build Kedainiai Arena and hand it over to the people of Kedainiai Region. AB "Lifosa" allocated 20 million Litas for the construction of Arena and acquisition of required facilities. The built Arena is handed over to Kedainiai District Municipality without making any claims regarding its management.

Arena covers the total area of 5.5 thousand square metres. Approximately 2,200 spectators will have an opportunity to watch games and up to 3,000 people will have a chance to enjoy concerts. Kedainiai residents are planning to use the Arena not only for sports and cultural events, but also for various conferences. Arena can be easily transformed into three basketball fields for training purposes and it can also be fitted to trainings and games of other fields of sports.

AB "Lifosa" does not intend to use this gift for its self-advertising. "The true owners of Arena are the community of this city and district, thus, we decided to name it as "Kedainiai Arena", said Jonas Dastikas.
