OREANDA-NEWS. Airport Communications Dispatchers at the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) were recognized by the San Mateo County Communication Managers Association (CMA) for their efforts during the Asiana Airlines Flight 214 accident in July 2013. In the category of “Outstanding Performance in a Fire/EMS incident”, the following were honored:

“I am proud of the dedication and professionalism shown by all of our first responders on that tragic day, including our Airport Communications Dispatchers,” said Airport Director John L. Martin. “This recognition from the San Mateo County Communication Managers Association is greatly appreciated and well-deserved.”

“The Airport Communications Dispatchers at SFO played an integral role when the Communications Center was put to the ultimate test and pushed to the limit during this critical incident,” said CMA Recognition Chairperson Gina Winter. “These individuals are to be commended for their exemplary performance and professionalism in managing the magnitude and tragedy of this event.”
