OREANDA-NEWS. For the first three months of 2014, Moscow Domodedovo Airport passenger traffic increased by 3.1% yoy and went over 6 million, amounting to 6,337 million people. Only in March, the airport handled more than 2.23 million passengers.

In January-March 2014, the largest increase of 37.7% was registered in the following group of destinations: Sharm-El-Sheikh, Kishinev, Punta Cana, Antalya, and London. Passenger traffic there amounted to 574 thousand people. In total, the airport handled 3.5 million people on international airlines traffic in the first quarter, 1.20 million of which are accounted for this March.

Domestic airlines passenger traffic in the first quarter of 2014 grew by 11.1% yoy and amounted to 2.86 million people. The highest growth rate of 36.7% was typical for the following cities: Sochi, St. Petersburg, Vladikavkaz, Mineralnye Vody, Krasnodar. The number of travelers on these destinations amounted to 814 thousand people. In March, domestic airlines passenger traffic increased by 10.6% to 1.03 million people.

During the first three months, the largest airport of the Moscow aviation hub increased the number of take-offs and landings to 59,46 thousand, 20.32 of which were made in March.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport cargo traffic in the first quarter of 2014 amounted to 41.715 tons.
