OREANDA-NEWS. During three months in 2014, NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport served 809,834 passengers representing a 9.2% growth compared to the same period in 2013. Passenger traffic on domestic routes made up 455,474 passengers (+8.8%), on international routes - 354,360 (+9.8%).

In March 2014, the airport passenger traffic increased by 4% compared to the same period of the previous year, in overall 277,898 passengers. As reported, 162,177 passengers were served on domestic routes, while on international routes - 115,721 passengers.

For three months' period, the airport registered 9,658 aircraft movements (+15.6%), while in March alone - 3,400 aircraft movements.

Year-to-date, the airport reports on 6,348 tons of cargo and mail handled (+2%), including 2,385 tons of freight in March only.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity - up to 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories. In 2013 the passenger traffic exceeded 3.7 mln passengers and cargo traffic totalled 29.9 thousand tons of cargo and mail handled. In 2014 the airport expects to serve 4.2 mln passengers and handle over 32 thousand tons of cargo and mail.
