OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2014. Ten 10 Moldovan economic agents, participating with a collective stand at the Hannover Messe International Specialised Exhibition, staged in Hannover city, Germany, have negotiated cooperation ties with partners from other states.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) organised the business people’s participation in this event, within a project implemented with the support of the EU-UNDP Support to Confidence Building Measures Programme, according to the CCI press service.

Project Manager Victor Dragutan emphasised that Hannover Messe was the biggest industrial equipment exhibition all over the world and Moldovan companies, including from the Transnistrian region, attended such a large-scale event for the first time ever.

The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Moldovan delegation at the event, Gheorghe Cucu, said that Moldova’s stand was placed in the Global Business Market pavilion, where the industrial profiles of more states – Italy, Romania, Russia, United Arab Emirates, China, Belarus, etc., at national level, were staged.

By five Transnistrian and Moldovan companies exhibited their works at Moldova’s stand, among which was the Raut Joint-Stock Company. Its representatives met Grunau GmbH & Co Company and discussed the manufactured products and possibility to manually produce some pieces for the German company.

The Support to Confidence Building Measures Programme is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme Moldova (UNDP) in 2012-2015 and has a budget of 10.6 million euros, provided by the European Union (9.5 million euros) and UNDP (1.1 million euros). This programme contributes to bolstering confidence between the two banks of Dniester, by involving the local authorities, civil society, business community and other sides interested in activities of economic and social development of local communities.
