OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2014. People looking for a job will benefit from training and support at a Career Development Centre launched with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in northern Rezina town.

The centre will apply the Norwegian SYSLAB methodology that combines teamwork, counselling and training on behalf of a qualified staff and creating a network of partnership between employers and potential employees.

Attending the event, Economics Minister Valeriu Lazar said the main aim of the centre was to help people with the necessary skills to find a job or to open their own business.

"It is important to create a better business environment in the country, so that both local and foreign investors bring modern investments. We also need to provide the necessary knowledge to everyone who wants to develop a business", said Lazar.

For his part, UNDP Resident Representative in Moldova Nicola Harrington-Buhay stressed that the centre would help develop business through innovative ways. "Sustainable success requires collaboration between business people and local and central authorities. This partnership will be possible with the help of UNDP too", said Harrington-Buhay.

The first centre of this kind was opened in Chisinau in last summer. The SYSLAB centres in Moldova are created within the Innovative Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Employment project, implemented by the UNDP, in partnership with the Economics Ministry and backed by the Norwegian Foreign Ministry.

Another two more centres will be launched soon. The budget for these centres amounts to one million dollars.
