OREANDA-NEWS. April 14, 2014. Science and technology innovation meeting of Sinosteel Corporation in 2014 was held in the headquarters of the group.

Bai Ying, deputy director of planning and development bureau of SASAC, and company leaders such as Jia Baojun, president of Sinosteel corporation, secretary of party committee of Sinosteel Corporation Limited, and Xu Siwei, secretary of the party committee of Sinosteel Corporation and general manager of Sinosteel Corporation Limited attended the meeting.

Relevant responsible persons of various functional departments, business units, operational and administrative centers and affiliated companies, representatives of the first session of science and technology advance award winners of the group and the first batch of engaged science and technology backbone talents totally more than 120 persons attended the meeting. The meeting was presided by Li Hongxia, deputy chief engineer. 

On the meeting, party secretary Xu Siwei made science and technology innovation work report of Innovation Driving Boosts Transformation Upgrading and Enhances Core Competency of Continuous Development, in which he fully retrospected science and technology innovation works of the group in 2013, objectively analyzed the serious situation faced by science and technology works of the group, and conducted overall deployment over science and technology innovation key works of the group in 2014. The first is to strengthen strategic research of science and technology innovation to serve the overall situation of reform and development of the group; the second is to strengthen construction of science and technology innovation system to fully enhance science and technology innovation capability; the third is to explore system and mechanism reform and motivate vitality of science and technology innovation; the fourth is to exert functions of various creative resources and promote fostering of science and technology innovation talents; the fifth is to implement the strategy of “Patent Assistance” to improve utilization ability of intellectual property strategy.

On the meeting, science and technology advance award awarding ceremony of the group in 2013 and the first batch science and technology backbone talents engagement ceremony of the group were held. Xiang Honghai, vice president of Sinosteel Maanshan Institute of Mining Research Co.,Ltd. , doctor Wang Gang of  Sinosteel Luoyang Institute of Refractories Research Co.,Ltd. and comrade Han Jianning of Sinosteel Xingtai Machinery& Mill Roll Co.,Ltd. made speeches on the meeting on behalf of award winners of science and technology advance award, engaged experts of the group and young experts of the group. 

Bai Ying, deputy director of planning and development bureau of SASAC made an important speech on the meeting, and proposed four wishes for science and technology works of the group: 1. to strengthen independent innovation capability and focus on breaking a batch of key core technologies. 2. to strengthen cooperation innovation, aggressively develop coordinated innovation and improve innovation capability and innovation efficiency; 3. to continuously perfect science and technology system and mechanism and make further exploration on pushing effective mechanism of science and technology innovation; 4. to continuously strengthen service innovation, improve market response capability, accelerate to build technological system which can effectively support service innovation, and continuously develop business model innovation.  
After the meeting, persons in charge of science and technology of affiliated companies, representatives of winners of science and technology advance award and engaged science and technology backbone talents visited the exhibition hall of the group, and attended training of TRIZ innovation methods.
