Kazakhstan Completes Formation of Sheltered Employment Maps
OREANDA-NEWS. April 14, 2014. Currently a large-scale activity on employment of people with disabilities has been conducted in Kazakhstan.
From 1 April 2014 the local executive bodies has started employment of disabled people using regional employment maps that have been designed for each region specially. Regional employment maps reflects the information from the centralized database of Kazakhstan Labour Ministry containing detailed information on the number of employed, self-employed and unemployed people with disabilities living in a particular region, in terms of their age and sex structure, taking into account their level of education, professional qualifications and types of diseases. Quarterly monitoring of employment of persons with disabilities is carried out through a single automated information system of the Labour Ministry.
As of January 1, 2014 the total number of disabled workers in Kazakhstan was 81,000 people. As of April 1 this figure increased by another 9,300 people and was 90,300 people, of those 310 were employed in the framework of the "Employment Roadmap 2020" (in the period from 1 January to 31 March 2014).
Kazakhstan Ministry of Labour in cooperation with local authorities will continue the work on refining contingent of people with disabilities who have complex diseases and the degree requiring constant care, for further consideration of granting the status of social workers to those providing care for this category of citizens.
