OREANDA-NEWS. April 14, 2014. Power engineers of JSC "Moscow United Electric Grid Company" have started implementing the large-scale program in renovation of the distribution grid (0.4; 6–10 kV) in the West of Moscow Region.

In the grids, meant to distribute the electric power to the consumers, they will have to make a capital repair of 310 km of power transmission lines, including, to substitute over 228 km of the aluminum conductor by the self-supporting insulated conductor of brand SSIC-2 and SSIC-3. Thanks to a multi-stranded conductor, covered by the insulator material, the useful life increases significantly and losses under the electric power transmission decrease. Short circuit in the grid, breaks due to falling down of trees, icing, are excluded. To support the reliable functioning of the distribution electric grid complex, the power engineers plan to renew 2519 poles, to repair over 10 km at cable line area.

In order to minimize the risks of emergency outages, related with falling down of trees on the wires, about 144 ha of the forest corridor will be cleared off, underneath the power transmission lines with the voltage of 0.4-10 kV.

In 2014 the expenditures for the repair campaign of the electric grid sector of JSC "MOESK" in the West of Moscow Region will amount to over RUR 595 mln.

By the words of Viktor Ivanov, the director of the Western Electric Grids, "the branch undertakes the necessary and timely measures in order to provide the reliable function of the electrical equipment. When fulfilling the repair works the new hi-tech equipment, materials and component parts are used, what guarantees the reliable and good quality power supply of consumers".
