OREANDA-NEWS. Metinvest-Shipping, the logistics unit of Metinvest Group, won two categories of the VII National Sea Rating of Ukraine in 2013.

The rating reviewed 43 candidates in 19 categories representing various segments of the sea industry of Ukraine.

Metinvest's subsidiary ranked first in the Sea Agent category for the largest number of self-propelled vessels serviced in state ports and other transshipment terminals of Ukraine. Last year, Metinvest handled 837 vessels.

The company also won Forwarder of the Year for the largest amount of freight forwarded through the country's sea ports and terminals. Last year, the amount of freight forwarding totalled 26 million tons.

The National Sea Rating of Ukraine was initiated seven years ago by the magazine "Ports of Ukraine" and BlackSea Trans information and analytical center. The rating was developed with the support of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Ukrport Association, Union of Sea Operators, Ukrainian Association of International Forwarders, Ukrainian Association of Sea Agents, and Black Sea International Shipowners Association (BINSA). The winners of the majority of categories were determined using the results of ratings based on the enterprises' performance.
