Volume of Trans-Frontier Remittances from Russia to Moldova Up 6,8%
OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2014. Last year, a remittance averaged USD451 against USD 487 in 2012, the Central Bank of RF said.
In particular, the remittances from RF to Moldova amounted to USD 244 million in Q1, USD 305 million in Q2, USD 362 million in Q3 and USD 368 million in Q4, 2013. In 2012, they were USD 214 million, USD 279 million, USD 350 million and USD 355 million in Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 respectively.
An average remittance from RF to Moldova was equal to USD 409 in Q1, USD 426 in Q2, USD 482 in Q3 and USD 478 in Q4 2013 against USD 431, USD 457, USD 533, USD 511 in QQ1, 2, 3 and 4 2012 respectively.
According to the Central Bank of RF, in 2013 Moldova was the 7th among CIS states by a volume of the remittances sent via money transfer systems, preceding Uzbekistan (USD 6 billion 689 million); Tajikistan (USD 4 billion 173 million), Ukraine (USD 3 billion 424 million), Kyrgyzstan (USD 2 billion 106 million), Armenia (USD 1 billion 715 million) and Azerbaijan (USD 1 billion 340 million).
As it was reported earlier, in 2013 remittances from aboard sent to individuals of Moldova via commercial banks grew 7.7% to USD 1 billion 608.98 million. The RUB remittances made up 33.6% of this amount, USD and EU ones being 31.3% and 35.1% respectively. According to the National Bank of Moldova, 68% of all the remittances were sent from Russia. Remittances from Italy, Israel and the USA were 9.3%, 6.3% and 4.8% respectively.
