Belarus Reports Br1.5tn Budget Surplus in Jan-Feb 2014
OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus' Finance Ministry posted a republican budget surplus of 1.5 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) (U.S. USD 151.822 million at the NBB rate) in January-February 2014, or 1.6% of GDP, the Finance Ministry said in a release.
The republican budget indicates spending and revenues of the central administration, whereas the consolidated budget also includes local budgets.
Republican budget revenues amounted to 16.2 trillion rubles (USD 1.64 billion) in January-February 2014, or 12/6% of the adjusted target for the whole year.
Republican budget expenditures reached 14.7 trillion rubles (USD 1.49 billion), 11.5% of the target for 2014.
Revenues from the value-added tax amounted to 11.8 trillion rubles (USD 1.194 billion, 17.7% of the year target), from income tax - Br200 billion (USD 20.243 million, 0.9%), excises - Br3.1 trillion (USD 313.765 million, 13.7%), from foreign economic activities 2.5 trillion rubles (USD 253.04 million), 9.4% of the target.
Revenues of the Labour and Welfare Ministry's social security fund (SSF) are estimated at Br13.9 trillion (USD 1.407 billion, 14.6%).
Tax arrears totalled Br305.9 billion (USD 30.962 million), down month on month by Br42.7 billion (USD 4.322 million) as of March 1, 2014.
Revenues of the state administration budget (republican budget, local budgets and SSF) totalled Br42 trillion in January-February 2014 (USD 4.251 billion), 13.8% of the adjusted annual plan; expenditures - Br41 trillion (USD 4.15 billion, 13.6%).
The surplus of the state administration budget totalled Br1 trillion (USD 101.215 million), 1.1% of the GDP.
