OREANDA-NEWS. The meeting of the Board of Directors of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company decided to elect Mikhail Volkov as the new General Director of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company for the period of 3 years. He will also be the Chairman of the Management Board of the company.

Mikhail Volkov starts to perform his duties in his new capacity on the 8th of April this year. Currently, he is the Senior Deputy General Director of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company and a member of the Management Board and the Board of Directors.

Mikhail Volkov was born in 1972. In 1994 he graduated from St. Petersburg State Technical University with two specializations: “MIS and information systems in economics" and "Marketing, Management and International Trade of Enterprises." In 2004, he received an EMBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. From 2007 to October 2013 Mikhail Volkov was the managing director of Basic Element, the financial services group, and was Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company. On October 1, 2013 the General Meeting of Shareholders of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company re-elected Mikhail Volkov to the current Board of Directors. Before joining Basic Element, from 2004 to 2007, he was the Executive Vice president of NASTA insurance company. In 2002-2004 he worked as a Financial Controller in the Moscow office of SUN Capital Partners Consultants Ltd. Since 1997, he has been member of ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). Mikhail began his professional career in 1994 as auditor at Coopers & Lybrand (later PWC).
