OREANDA-NEWS. April 09, 2014. There are more start-up companies in Estonia per person than in any other European country, which is attracting the attention of an increasing number of start-up IT and hardware companies and investors.

In the series "Next Silicon Valleys" BBC correspondent Nigel Cassidy introduced Estonia as a technological giant, which can be referred to as the Silicon Valley of the Baltic States.

In addition to introducing Estonia as the birthplace of Skype, an overview is also given of the robot mannequin Fitsme, and Playtech, the world’s largest supplier of online gaming software.

Representatives and advisors of Estonian start-up companies, including, among others, Tallinn University of Technology Professor Rainer Kattel, note that in contrast to the actual Silicon Valley, effort must still be made when it comes to the infrastructure of start-up companies. There is a shortage of advisors and investor trust.
