LOTOS Recognised for Its Best Practices
OREANDA-NEWS. Four Grupa LOTOS initiatives are highlighted in the latest publication by the Responsible Business Forum (FOB) on best CSR practices.
On April 1st 2014, at the CSR Fair in Warsaw, the Responsible Business Forum presented its 'Responsible Business in Poland 2013. Best Practices' report. It is the 12th publication in FOB's series analysing best practices submitted by companies. The report showcases the most inspiring ones.
Traditionally, best practices are divided into subjects in accordance with the ISO 26000 standard. The Supplier portal among the twenty examples included in the Fair Operating Practices subject. The Development Initiation Forum, co-founded by LOTOS, and the White and Green Future with LOTOS programme, are the initiatives in which we participate and which were recognised as part of the Community Involvement and Development subject. The Let's Talk About LOTOS practice was presented as part of the long-term Labour Practices subject.
"We can only be proud that our initiatives inspire other companies and win recognition of CSR and sustainable development specialists. This is our input into the improvement of standards and the development of the Polish market in this area" emphasised Jowita Twardowska, Communication & CSR Director at Grupa LOTOS.
The latest edition of the report contains as many as 403 different practices, compared with 262 listed in the last year's edition. The number of companies submitting descriptions of their projects did not increase as much. This year, LOTOS is one of 135 participating organisations, compared with 106 participants last year. It is also worth noting that for every submitted practice FOB evaluates such aspects as how a given action fits the social context and the company's situation, and considers the effectiveness of a given project, its benefits both for the company and the project's target group, as well as plans for further development of presented projects. This means that the implementation of LOTOS's initiatives classified as good practices was positively evaluated and considered effective by FOB experts.
