OREANDA-NEWS. Social projects of “Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol of Metinvest Group” received a high appraisal of the Second National Contest “Charitable Ukraine”. The enterprise is recognized by the winner in a nomination “Benefactor: company - big business”.

More than 200 charitable programs, projects and personal charitable acts have taken part in contest from all regions of the country. “Charitable Oscar” - an amber statuette “Angel of welfare” as the sign of recognition and gratitude from the Ukrainian society was awarded to the best companies, charitable and public organizations, collectives and private persons in exhibition centre of Kiev “Mystets'kyi Arsenal”.

“Ilyich Iron and Steel Works” has appropriated more than 12 million UAH for support of social sphere of Mariupol in 2013. Thanks to this assistance the old surgical building of city hospital № 4 has been reconstructed and also the new medical ambulance station which has made medical aid is more accessible to 15 thousand citizens of Mariupol has been opened. And 10 thousand inhabitants of micro-district “Zapadnyi” for the first time for many years could forget about problems with water supply after completion of step-up pump station by the workers of Ilyich Iron and Steel Works.

The award deserved by the collective of the metallurgists of Mariupol was awarded to the chief engineer of “Ilyich Iron and Steel Works”.

• Over a period of many years the workers of “Ilyich Iron and Steel Works” are participants of a number of charitable programs. Our Works always helped and will help those who requires it. Today for the decision of the problems the state and many Ukrainian cities require the help of the big business. Combining efforts and arranging dialogue we can make many good and useful deeds. As the production worker, I understand that today the main our problem is to raise labor productivity, to increase volumes of output, to pay wages and taxes in proper time. There is an univocal understanding in collective of “Ilyich Iron and Steel Works”, the economy stability, quality and standards of living both Mariupol and Ukraine depends on results of work of metallurgists.
