OREANDA-NEWS. A CCTV system has been launched in Ariogala: the newly installed five high-definition CCTV cameras in the town have expanded the CCTV network of the district of Raseiniai. The CCTV cameras have been installed and their constant maintenance will be ensured by TEO LT, AB, the largest provider of integrated telecommunication, IT and television services in Lithuania.

"We are glad to have found the funds to install cameras in Ariogala. This settlement has been rather unquiet lately. We believe that the surveillance of public spaces will have a disciplinary effect and thus will give residents a sense of security. The Municipality, according to its financial means, will try to install CCTV cameras in other areas as well, primarily in Šiluva because this town is heavily frequented not only by the residents of Lithuania", - Jonas Kurlavičius, Director of Administration of Raseiniai District Municipality, said.

The CCTV cameras will monitor the intersection of the main streets, exit from the town, the market square, the territory of local administration office building and other most frequently visited places. The CCTV system will ensure the transmission of high-quality video images to the central control desk, set up at the headquarters of Raseiniai District Police Commissariat. From here, police officers will be able to control all the CCTV cameras and monitor public spaces not only in Raseiniai, but also in Ariogala, which is situated 25 kilometres away from Raseiniai.

"The modern CCTV system is a great tool to ensure security in public spaces. The new CCTV cameras will operate 24 hours a day; they will turn round on their axes, record views around them and is able to increase the image view more than 30 times. The system is adapted to the most severe weather conditions", - Loreta Ivašauskienė, Director of Kaunas Regional Center of TEO, tells about the advantages of the CCTV system.

Video recordings from the new CCTV cameras will be stored in additional hard drives, each holding even 2 terabytes (TB) of information, which is able to store the video recordings of up to 2 months. In the event of a crime, it will be possible to review the archive of video recordings, which should facilitate the work of police officers in investigating the circumstances of events.

TEO has implemented a total of over 100 CCTV projects. The CCTV cameras installed by TEO in more than twenty cities and towns of Lithuania help police officers protect the peace of residents. TEO has installed the most extensive CCTV systems in Visaginas (75 CCTV cameras), Kaunas (52 CCTV cameras) and Druskininkai (34 CCTV cameras).

Last year, TEO offered an integrated CCTV service to businesses and organizations. It is useful in order to monitor the surroundings, warehousing and office premises, to capture and analyse visitor flows in shops, to ensure security in educational institutions, polyclinics, and home communities. By providing this service, TEO remotely ensures that the CCTV system is operating properly.
