OREANDA-NEWS.   Total has resumed operations at Yemen's Block 10 oil field after it was shut due to strike action by workers this month, the French oil major said.

Block 10 is in Hadramout, a particularly unstable region of Yemen which has been blighted by fighting between government forces and a big tribal confederation since December.

Block 10 has the capacity to produce over 60,000 barrels per day, according to Total's Yemeni operations website. Total is the biggest foreign investor in Yemen and the impoverished Arab country accounts for around 3 percent of Total's global oil and gas production.
