OREANDA-NEWS. The ОАО LUKOIL Press Service would like to announce that a commission of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage (Rosprirodnadzor) for the North Caucasian Federal Okrug conducted an unscheduled audit at OOO Stavrolen with regard to the fire outbreak at the ethylene-production plant there on February 26, 2104. No violations of the applicable environmental legislation have been found.

As the production plant's territory was inspected on the day of incident, it was determined that all the effluents, resulting from the irrigation of metal structures with the purpose of cooling them down, were supplied to the treatment facilities. There have been no discharges into Buyvol lake.

The commission did not discover any violations as regards atmospheric air protection, protection and usage of water resources, treatment of production and consumption waste, use and protection of land, sustainable use and protection of the subsoil, arrangement and maintenance of specially protected natural territories of federal significance, nor in terms of compliance with license conditions and requirements. Thus, due to the absence of any corpus delicti, the matter of the administrative offense against OOO Stavrolen was dismissed.

Currently, a commission under the Caucasian Department of Rostekhnadzor (Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision) is investigating the cause of the fire outbreak at the ethylene-production plant.
