KMG to Operate at Loss to Hold Fuel Price Increases
OREANDA-NEWS. April 02, 2014. Minister of Oil and Gas of Kazakhstan Uzakbai Karabalin said that National Company "KazMunaiGas" will be able to operate at a loss in order to hold fuel price increases.
Commenting on soaring gasoline prices in Kyrgyzstan, the Minister said that this country does not own factories. In Kazakhstan, the plants are fully operational, he said.
"The fact that we have agreement on obtaining oil from Russia to a certain extent, those are additional volumes only. We can not be compared with Kyrgyzstan," the Minister told reporters after the cabinet meeting.
According to the head of KMG, the prices of petrol will keep up until the current mid- year. Delivery mechanisms from Russia are being worked off until that time.
