SEB Internet Bank to Get Mobile- and Tablet-Friendly Look
OREANDA-NEWS. April 02, 2014. From today, the look of SEB Internet Bank will be updated. Similarly to the website, the on-screen display of the Internet Bank will become automatically adaptable to various electronic devices.
This will make it more convenient to perform banking transactions from a tablet computer or smart phone, for instance. In addition, a facelift will be given to the menu of the Internet Bank, which will be more straightforward and better structured than currently.
Working with its clients, SEB has developed a new Internet Bank solution. In March, all SEB clients had the opportunity to test the new design and structure of the Internet Bank. In total, 2700 clients registered for testing, and feedback was provided by more than 800 people.
“The last time the structure of SEB Internet Bank underwent a major change was four years ago. Since then, however, the world of the Internet has evolved dramatically: both consumers’ habits and devices used to access banking services have changed. As a result, we have to stay abreast of the times and constantly develop our systems and make them more user-friendly,” said Ragnar Toomla, head of online banking at SEB.
“The overwhelming majority of phones sold now are smart phones, and Internet use via mobile devices is growing by leaps and bounds. The most-used pages in our Internet Bank will now change according to the screen of the device and will be handy to use on the regular computer screen, tablet and mobile phone display alike,” Toomla added.
According to a survey commissioned in the Baltic States by SEB, the use of smart devices for the consumption of banking services has grown significantly. Whereas in 2011 banking operations were completed using a mobile by 3% of Estonians, this figure has now risen to 16%, and a similar change may be witnessed in the use of tablets (a rise from 3% to 14%).
Due to a version update, the functioning of SEB’s private and business client Internet Bank will be disrupted from 10 pm to 11 pm tonight. All other channels will be functioning without a glitch. We do apologise for any inconvenience. In case of any questions, contact SEB customer support on 665 5100.
