Gazprom Neft Acquires 50% of Refuelling Complex at Omsk Airport
OREANDA-NEWS. Gazpromneft-Aero, which operates JSC Gazprom Neft's aviation fuel business, has acquired 50% of Omsk (Tsentralny) Refuelling Complex from Omsk Airport. The company plans to equip the complex with new technology and implement modern refuelling quality standards.
Gazpromneft-Aero has a number of priority projects to improve the infrastructure of the refuelling complex by 2017, including plans to update the refuelling technology and install new equipment for checking fuel quality.
“Gazpromneft-Aero is currently one of Russia's major investors in airport refuelling infrastructure. In 2013, the volume of capital invested in the modernization of refuelling complexes exceeded RUB 2.7 billion, and this year we plan to increase that figure”, said Gazpromneft-Aero CEO Vladimir Yegorov. “Modernizing the infrastructure of the Omsk refuelling complex will enable us to provide airlines with aviation fuel services that comply with the latest Russian and international quality, performance, and safety requirements.”
Gazpromneft-Aero is a subsidiary of JSC Gazprom Neft. The company has been carrying out aircraft fuelling operations and selling 'into-plane' aviation fuel since 1 January 2008. Gazpromneft-Aero has been a strategic partner of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in the field of aviation fuel services since December 2008.
Gazpromneft-Aero leads Russia's aviation fuel market in terms of retail sales volumes. The company has 38 of its own refuelling stations at airports in Russia and abroad. The company uses technologies which ensure that it complies with the very highest IATA level of safety in fuel operations.
