OREANDA-NEWS. March 28, 2014. Zapolyarny site of Kola MMC (a subsidiary of MMC Norilsk Nickel) is completing the reconstruction of materials warehouse. Since August 2013, Mining Units Servicing has been engaged in its development.

The contractor carried out remodeling of the building and capital repair of the flooring; upgraded lighting and heating systems, installed modern multi-level storage racks. In total, the warehouse is to comprise 1750 separate storage areas of up to 500 kg.

After the reconstruction the warehouse will meet the requirements of the best logistics practices as to the efficiency of space utilization. Receipt and shipment of products to the production units of Kola MMC will be fully mechanized. This will improve production efficiency and reduce maintenance costs of the company.

The warehouse is to be commissioned in April 2014. Kola MMC’s costs for the project will be about RUB 12 mln.
