OREANDA-NEWS.  March 27, 2014. The Government of the Perm region and the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) signed an Agreement on Cooperation. On behalf of the Perm region, the Agreement was signed by the Governor, Victor Basargin, and on behalf of FAS – by the Head of FAS, Igor Artemiev.

The Agreement enables actions towards protecting competition in the Perm region, creating conditions for effective market performance, and observing the antimonopoly law.

“Documents at such level provide for consultations and joint actions towards developing competition in the region. I am convinced that our cooperation shall be mutually useful, rather than just nominal, and our work as the antimonopoly body will become much more efficient in the region”, emphasized Igor Artemiev.

Victor Basargin pointed out: ‘In 2013 we organized over 3,000 tenders and were able to save a little bit over 5%. We hope that the agreement will help making tenders more efficient, provide possibilities for personnel training and increase competitiveness of the regional markets”.
