Enefit Plant Costs Could Soar by EUR28 Million
OREANDA-NEWS. March 26, 2014. The co-owner of technology used in the new Enefit280 shale oil plant, Outotec, is seeking 28 million euros from energy giant Eesti Energia in connection with the construction of the 200-million-euro plant, although neither side has commented on the details.
State-owned Eesti Energia representatives told Postimees they will look into the matter when the factory is running at full capacity, which it has failed to do since opening in 2012, mainly due to glitches in technology and a fire incident last year.
Eesti Energia handed Outotec 40 percent of shale oil technology in exchange for successfully setting up the plant which turns oil shale into liquid fuels.
