OREANDA-NEWS.   At 08:00 a.m. on 25 March, the dispatcher of the Crimean Energy System (NEC Ukrenergo) informed DTEK Krymenergo that the emergency repairs of the 330 kV Kakhovka-Ostrovska and Melitopol-Dzhankoi lines owned by NEC Ukrenergo would last until 09:00 p.m. on 25 March 2014.

DTEK Krymenergo continues to execute the instructions of NEC Ukrenergo regarding the reduction of the overall electrical load on the peninsular and activation of emergency power shutdowns.

In the daytime we try to minimise power shutdowns in view of the peninsula’s in-house generation and pro rata reduction in continental cross flows, as well as lower electricity consumption.

As soon as the Crimean Energy System lifts the load constraints DTEK Krymenergo will restore power supply to its consumers following the respective instructions of Ukrenergo's dispatcher.

We apologise to the consumers for the temporary inconvenience caused. Regarding all the issues related to power supply, please call DTEK Krymenergo's hot line at 0 800 50 80 90.

As previously stated, at 7:40 p.m. on 23 March, due to process issues at two NEC Ukrenergo's lines - the 330 kV Kakhovka-Ostrovska and Melitopol-Dzhankoi lines - the dispatcher of the Crimean Energy System had instructed DTEK Krymenergo to temporarily use full-scale emergency power shutdowns.

At 1:00 a.m. on 24 March, because of a natural load decrease during night hours DTEK Krymenergo was able to supply power to all the consumers that had been cut off earlier according to the instructions of Ukrenergo. At 5:40 a.m. on 24 March, as the peninsular electric load started to increase, the dispatcher of the Crimean Energy System reinstated the instructions for DTEK Krymenergo to use emergency power shutdowns. At 09:50 a.m. on 24 March, DTEK Krymenergo resumed power supply to the disconnected consumers. At 05.55 p.m. on 24 March, the dispatcher of the Crimean Energy System owned by NEC Ukrenergo instructed DTEK Krymenergo to use emergency power shutdowns to reduce the load on the peninsular.
