OREANDA-NEWS. The National Bank of Ukraine is set to reshuffle its staff and reform the banking system as a whole, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv said at a meeting with the journalists who are covering banking sector issues.

“Well-defined goals and functions are back of the staff reshuffle. Bearing in mind these goals and functions, we will hold competitions in order to fill vacant posts by recruiting specialists from the pool of candidates and banking industry experts. You are going to see certain changes that will not be revolutionary but efficient,” said Mr Stepan Kubiv, adding that attempts to combine the expertise possessed by public and private sector bankers in the process of reshuffling the staff will help stabilize the situation in the banking sector.

In addition, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv told the journalists that Mr Volodymyr Krotiuk had been appointed as First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine. He has long experience of working in the central bank and Ukrainian banks. His responsibilities will include banking supervision, registration and licensing of banks, and financial monitoring.
