FBK Took Part in Conference on De-Offshorization
OREANDA-NEWS. March 25, 2014. The leading lawyers of the FBK Legal tax consulting practice Ekaterina Dbar and Dmitry Paramonov took part in the conference of “De-offshorization of Russian Economy. The 2014 Trend”.
The goal stated by the Government to de-offshorize the Russian economy and the proposed measures to achieve it raised a discussion in the professional community about the possible consequences of fighting against the off-shore companies and about the goal attainability in general.
At the conference that took place on 28 February under the auspice of The Moscow Times the leading experts in tax law shared their considerations on what problems might ensue from the process of de-offshorization, how business should be prepared for the upcoming innovations, how to minimize the risks of using the offshore jurisdictions and how to decrease the costs if refusing to use them.
According to the FBK Legal experts the most meaningful and practically interesting at the workshop were discussions on the disclosure of information about the “actual beneficiary of the income”, specifics of the draft law about the “controlled foreign companies” and the Federal law “On amendments to certain legal acts of the Russian Federation in terms of combating illegal financial operations”.
