Antimonopoly Bodies of CIS States Monitor Grain Market
OREANDA-NEWS. March 25, 2014. The Headquarters for Joint Investigations of the Violations of the Antimonopoly Law of the CIS Member-States, had a meeting in Moscow chaired by Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), Anatoly Golomolzin, had a meeting in Moscow.
Representatives of the antimonopoly authorities of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan took part in the Headquarters’ session. Also, a representative of Bulgaria’s Commission for Competition Protection, Alexander Galendinov, was an invited guest and speaker at the meeting.
The Headquarters discussed the results of the efforts of the Working Group for studying the grain market in the CIS member-states to prepare a Report “On the State of Competition in the CIS Member-States” and determined future areas of work, in particular, analysis of the state of competition on the market of grain storage and safekeeping, on the market of grain shipment, drafting reviews of the market of grain transportation services and the state of competition on the wholesale grain market.
Participants outlined the action plan to monitor prices for socially important food products in 2014.
Following the results of completed work, the Headquarters plans to devise recommendations aimed at reducing prices for socially important goods upon exposing the facts of a considerable increase of prices for these goods or a considerable difference of prices for similar goods on the comparable markets of the CIS states.
Next time the Headquarters shall meet in June 2014 in Chisinau (Moldova).
