OREANDA-NEWS. March 25, 2014. CEPSA procurement area, which manages the acquisitions non-related to supply raw materials and products, in their vocation of service to meet the business objectives of the Company, has launched a new model of relationship with suppliers.

This model enhances and strengthens relationships to generate value both for CEPSA and the supplier by strengthening and fostering mutually beneficial, long-term, more personalized relationships.

The guidelines consist of a set of methods, procedures and tools which CEPSA is implementing jointly with its suppliers, making them more integral part of the company's business. The idea is to communicate more closely with each supplier to drive collaboration and innovation based on their opinions and experiences. CEPSA also intends to start up initiatives to achieve continuous improvement and to fix and evaluate plans and objectives together.

According to Diego Martinez-Caro, Head of Control and Budgets at CEPSA Group, "The Company aims to become a leader in procurement management. To achieve that goal we need the cooperation of our suppliers. We are sure that the relationship guidelines will be of great benefit to everyone". These statements were made during a meeting organised by the Company for its suppliers at the building that will soon be its new corporate headquarters, the CEPSA Tower, which was attended by 260 people.

The new model is a step forward within the process of adapting the management models of CEPSA, intended to support the Group's expansion plan. It will finish the centralization of the strategic purchasing function in order to act as a lever on the objectives of the business and add value to the role of its more than 3,000 active suppliers. CEPSA has been working towards greater transparency in this area of the process by using electronic means for communication, sustainability and to protect the environment. The model will also let CEPSA to have an even more responsible policy.
