OREANDA-NEWS. Implementation of a large-scale long-term program aimed at overhauling hydroelectric units and outdoor switchgears at the Krasnoyarskaya HPP (EuroSibEnergo Group) will soon be completed. To date, 11 out of 12 hydroelectric units have been fully upgraded. OJSC Power Machines has supplied a set of equipment for overhauling the last water turbine (st. no. 11) at the Krasnoyarskaya HPP. Specialists plan to finish retrofitting it before the end of 2014. Besides, all equipment for overhauling 500 kV outdoor switchgears has been supplied; the overhaul is expected to be completed in 2015. Afterwards, the Company intends to start replacing rotor wheels and power transformers at the Krasnoyarskaya HPP.

At the Bratskaya HPP, the first six hydroelectric units were also overhauled between 2004 and 2010. Replacement of rotor wheels enabled an increase in the efficiency of the units to 95.3%. In 2014, the Company started replacing the next six rotor wheels. Installation of the first rotor wheel manufactured by an Austrian company Voith Hydro will be completed in November 2014. The delivery of the second rotor wheel is scheduled for the second half of 2014. According to the plan, Voith Hydro is to supply two rotor wheels per year to the Bratskaya HPP from 2014 till 2016. The overhaul of water turbines involving the replacement of rotor wheels forms part of OJSC Irkutskenergo's investment program. In 2014, the Company also plans to start a scheduled replacement of rotor wheels at the Ust-Ilimskaya HPP.
