During the recertification, Ural Steel confirmed EMS's adherence to the requirements of the ISO 14001:2004 international standard. The auditors stated that all the prerequisites of the standard have been fulfilled. They also noted the continuous reduction in hazardous emissions, conformance to all legal requirements to environmental management and implementation of environmental safety measures as part of the investment programme. The audit of the occupational health and safety management system affirmed its compliance with OHSAS 18001 international standard and showed its effectiveness in maintaining employee health and safety.

Having completed the audit, we will recommend that the unit is issued with a 3-year certificate. In addition, Ural Steel proved the capabilities of its health and safety management system. We noted the positive trend in reduction of the number of incidents.
