Moldovan Farmers Worried about Oil Products Price Increase
OREANDA-NEWS. March 20, 2014. Farmers are worried about the increase in prices for oil products and asked for a meeting with Prime Minister Iurie Leanca to analyse this situation, according to a letter signed by the management of more farmers’ organisations.
The farmers were inflicted losses of about 200 million lei over the past period, because of the rise in prices for diesel fuel.
In subscribers’ opinion, "the increase in prices for petroleum products is not justified and shows a total lack of transparency on the oil products market."
The farmers are dissatisfied with the fact that certain amendments to the legislation regulating the Moldovan petroleum products market have not been approved as yet. They refer to the enforcement of a new methodology of setting prices for imported oil products, cancelling of requirements before the oil products market operators in terms of social capital, minimum quantity of oil storehouse for the petroleum products market operators and giving the farmers right to directly import diesel fuel on agricultural purposes.
