National Bank of Kyrgyz Republic Announces New Deputy Chairman
OREANDA-NEWS. In connection with the expiration of the tenure of Mr. Abdybaly tegin Suerkul according to the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic relieved of the post of Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Mr. Abdybaly tegin Suerkul has been leading his career at the National Bank since 1992. He headed the Department of Emission and Cash Operations, was the head of Banking Supervision Department, member of the Board of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic. In 2004-2007, Mr. Abdybaly tegin Suerkul worked as a consultant in the World Bank on private and financial sector. In February 2007, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic.
High professionalism of Mr. Abdybaly tegin Suerkul, his knowledge and experience have been invaluable to the development of the National Bank. Being on the post of the Deputy Chairman, he oversaw the activities of the National Bank in the development and implementation of monetary and exchange rate policies. Based on the initiative of Mr. Abdybaly tegin Suerkul, the National Bank introduced a system of research, a scientific advisory council was created and the research center was established based on the Economic Department.
Mr. Abdybaly tegin Suerkul will continue working in the National Bank as an adviser to the Chairman of the National Bank and will oversee the reforms launched in the National Bank, primarily associated with the transition to a new model of monetary policy aimed at stabilizing interest rates, development of financial instruments and providing support in reducing the average level of inflation. The implementation of this approach will take time and require competent and professional management of the transition processes.
Mr. Abdybaly tegin Suerkul was born in 1966 in the village of Jany-Jol of Jany-Jol rayon of Osh oblast. He has higher education.
In 1999 Mr. Abdybaly tegin Suerkul received education in Georgetown University (Washington, USA) at a special education program, where he studied the basic disciplines such as market economy, international trade, macroeconomics, econometrics, financial programming, budget management, and banking.
He attended a fellowship programe at the International Monetary Fund and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System of the USA.
He is fluent in the Kyrgyz, Russian and English languages. He was awarded a certificate of honor by the Kyrgyz Republic for his accomplishments in his work; he was awarded the title of "Honored Economist".
