Kazakhstan Declares Moratorium on Tariff Changes
OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2014. Moratorium on tariff changes for regulated services until May 1 is declared in Kazakhstan. This was reported by the Chairman of the Agency for Regulation of Natural Monopolies Murat Ospanov at the government hour in the Majilis.
"Moratorium on tariff changes for regulated services until May 1 has been declared at the present time. In 2013, the entities - dominants filed 129 rate increase notices, an injunction was issued on 55 notifications, including 22 rates were reduced," M. Ospanov said.
According to him, tariff approval is carried out strictly in accordance with the requirements of the legislation. All changes of tariffs for regulated utilities were conducted considering planned inflation corridor recommended by the Government.
"In 2013, a contribution to inflation at 1.15% in terms of 1.2% was provided," M. Ospanov said.
