More than 3 500 Kazakh Legal Entities Must Conduct Energy Audit
OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2014. More than 3 500 legal entities must conduct energy audit until July 2015. This was reported by the First Vice Minister of Industry and New Technologies Albert Rau at the Economic Policy Council meeting.
As A. Rau noted a state-owned energy register of major energy consumers of the country is established in Kazakhstan.
"11 000 legal entities became part of the registry by the end of 2013. In general, in conformity with the law, more than 3 500 legal entities must conduct energy audit, and develop and implement five - year plans for the conservation and energy efficiency until July 2015 with intervals every 5 years," A. Rau said.
He also said that the share of industrial facilities in the total energy consumption is more than 50-70% in Kazakhstan. According to the estimates of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the potential of energy conservation in the industry is up to 40%.
"The transport sector consumes up to 20% of energy resources - saving potential is about 35-40%, power consumption of public utilities and budget organizations up to 30% of energyresources, potential of energy conservation is 30%," A. Rau informed.
According to him, practical implementation of government energy saving policy has begun in the country and the Institute of energy conservation that will deal with this question will be built.
"Today, more than 3 thousand energy regulations have been installed, more than 200 technical standards for energy efficiency have been adopted, there is a revision of building regulations with tightening of all energy efficiency standards," A. Rau concluded.
