OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2014. Reports submitted by 25 working fixed telephony providers of Moldova to the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technologies show that the number of subscribers increased thanks to 24 different vendors of the market, ANRCETI says.

In 2013, over 23,700 new clients subscribed to their networks whereas the subscriber base of Moldtelecom decreased by over 8,000 people. As of the end of 2013, Moldelecom had 1 million 115.1 thousand subscribers, or 91.3% of the total amount of people subscribed to the fixed telephony services in Moldova. At the same time, other providers of the fixed telephony services had over 106,300 clients, or 8.7%.

The total number of subscribers to fixed telephony was 1 million 221.5 thousand of which 1 million 078.6 thousand were individuals and over 142.9 thousand were legal entities.

The fixed telephony penetration increased 0.3% in 2013 year-on-year and exceeded 34.4%.
