Moscow and Karelia Sign Agreement on Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. The ceremony of signing the Agreement between the Government of Moscow and the Government of the Republic of Karelia on trade, economic, scientific, technological, and cultural cooperation will take place in Moscow. It will be signed by Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin and Head of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen.
The agreement is called to enhance development of bilateral cooperation and will be used for implementation of future projects and programs. It provides cooperation in such spheres as transport, industry, agriculture, construction, municipal housing economy, public health service, education, science, culture, tourism and sports, ecology.
The protocol on concerted actions for 2014-2017 regarding implementation of the Agreement will be signed.
Karelia and Moscow have longstanding, friendly relations. Cooperation between the two regions was built on the basis of the Agreement between the governments on trade, economic, scientific, technological, and cultural cooperation concluded in 2007 and a number of Protocols on its implementation.
