OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2014. In 2014, Kazakhstan will launch a communications satellite (“KazSat-3”) and two remote-sensing satellites. This was reported by the Chairman of the National Space Agency (Kazkosmos) of Kazakhstan, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences Talgat Mussabayev at a meeting "Space: Science and Technology".

"Remote-sensing satellites made to the order of Kazkosmos by the French company Airbus Defence and Space will be launched from Kourou (French Guiana). Kazakhstan's first remote sensing satellite is a satellite with high spatial resolution, it is designed for the observation of natural and agricultural resources, collecting geospatial data," T. Mussabayev said.

Kazakhstan and Russia is about to create a space-rocket complex "Baiterek" based on the rocket "Zenit" on the basis of the space center "Baikonur", i.e. now the Kazakh National Space Agency specialists together with Russian specialists will jointly launch rockets of "Zenit" into space.

"At present, a developing country should have a space industry and appropriate technology. After all, television, mobile phones, broadband Internet and navigation work with the help of satellites. I also would like to note that the space industry is developing very well in Kazakhstan," T. Mussabayev summed.
