Belarus Raises Minimum Prices for Strong Alcohol 23.3%
OREANDA-NEWS. The Economy Ministry of Belarus has raised minimum selling prices of liquors with 28% alcohol content and higher up to Br37,000 (USD 3.78) per 0.5 litre starting March 7, 2014.
The resolution applies to alcoholic beverages produced and sold in Belarus.
The minimum rack price of Belarus-made alcoholic beverages goes up by 18.4% to Br45,000 per half-litre (USD 4.6, VAT not included).
For ethyl alcohol used for producing rectified ethyl alcohol the minimum selling price shall be Br105,000 (USD 10.72) per 1 decalitre of pure alcohol, up 16.7%.
The minimum price of rectified ethyl alcohol (excise tax included) shall stand at Br336,200 (USD 39.51) per decalitre of pure alcohol, unchanged.
Alcohol producers cannot sell liquors with 28% alcohol content and higher below the minimum selling prices.
Minimum vodka prices were last raised on August 29, 2013 (by 11.1%) and pure alcohol - in October 2012.
